ITV Confirms Release Date for New Thriller “Red Eye” Starring Richard Armitage
Are you a fan of thrilling dramas that keep you on the edge of your seat? If so, you’ll be excited to hear that ITV has confirmed a release date for the new thriller Red Eye starring Richard Armitage. The six-part drama is set to premiere on ITV and ITVX on Sunday, April 21.
In Red Eye, Armitage plays Dr. Matthew Nolan, a murder suspect who finds himself arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport upon his return to the UK from a conference in Beijing. The police are suspicious of Nolan’s involvement in a car crash during his trip to China, where a woman is said to have died despite Nolan claiming he was alone in the car.
Escorted back to Beijing by DC Hana Li, played by Jui Lusi, Nolan faces charges related to the crash. However, their flight back proves to be anything but safe, as a death occurs onboard, leading DC Li to suspect foul play.
As further deaths confirm Nolan’s danger, Hana finds herself caught up in an escalating conspiracy after a call from MI5. Meanwhile, back in London, Hana’s sister Jess, a scrappy reporter, is running her own investigation into Nolan’s extradition and finds herself in danger from an unknown assassin.
With the head of MI5, Madeline Delaney, played by Lesley Sharp, breaking protocol to help Hana and Nolan stay alive and expose an international conspiracy, Red Eye promises to be a gripping and intense thriller.
In a new poster for the drama, ITV teases “there’s no escape at 35,000ft” with safety risks including the onboard meal and an armed assassin onboard. Don’t miss the premiere of Red Eye on April 21 on ITV and ITVX for a thrilling ride full of suspense and intrigue.
