Comparing the MG3 Hybrid to its Rivals: A Closer Look at the Driving Experience and Features

Are you in the market for a hybrid car that prioritizes the use of its electric motor over the petrol engine? Look no further than the MG3. Unlike its rivals, the MG3 offers a driving experience that is much closer to an electric car than a hybrid. The transition between the electric motor and petrol engine is smooth and seamless, providing a comfortable and efficient ride.

Official figures suggest that the new MG3 hybrid can return an impressive 64.5mpg, making it a cost-effective option for those looking to save on fuel expenses. During our test drive, we averaged 55.4mpg, which is still in line with its closest cheap-hybrid competitors like the Renault Clio and Toyota Yaris.

Despite being a small car, the MG3 offers ample space inside with plenty of head and knee room for adults in the back. The cabin is also equipped with plenty of storage space and cubby holes for added convenience. Safety features are generous, with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning included as standard on all models. Plus, the seven-year/80,000 mile warranty provides added peace of mind for buyers.

If you’re in the market for a hybrid car, the MG3 is a top contender in terms of affordability. Priced at £18,495, it is one of the cheapest hybrid cars available. Other affordable options include the Renault Clio E-Tech Hybrid, Toyota Yaris, Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140, Mazda 2 Hybrid, Renault Captur E-Tech Hybrid, Toyota Yaris Cross, Suzuki Vitara Full Hybrid, Suzuki S-Cross Hybrid, and Honda Jazz.

When it comes to hybrid cars, there are different types to consider. Mild hybrids provide a boost to the engine under acceleration but cannot move solely on electric power. Full hybrids can drive on electric power for short distances, while plug-in hybrids have larger batteries that can be charged via a cable for longer electric-only range.
