Cadillac Introduces the Bold New Optiq Electric Crossover to the European Market
Cadillac is making waves in the European premium automotive sector with the introduction of its latest electric crossover, the Cadillac Optiq. This bold move marks the brand’s return to the European market, with the Optiq set to make its debut in the United Kingdom later this year.
What sets the Optiq apart is its right-hand drive configuration, a first for Cadillac in Europe. This, alongside its larger counterpart, the Lyriq SUV, is sure to make a significant impact on the market. The Optiq is designed to have a global presence, with availability in over ten regions worldwide, including its European debut in Paris.
Built on General Motors’ advanced Ultium platform, the Optiq offers solid performance and efficiency. With two electric motors delivering a combined output of 300 PS and 480 Nm of torque, the crossover is no slouch. The 85 kWh battery provides an impressive range of 298 miles on a single charge, with fast-charging capabilities that allow for 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Cadillac’s previous attempts to break into the European market have faced challenges, particularly with adapting to the right-hand drive configuration. However, with the Optiq and other new models being factory-built with right-hand drive from the start, this hurdle has been eliminated.
John Roth, vice president at Cadillac, expressed excitement about the brand’s foray into the EV future with the Optiq. With a growing customer base and a commitment to offering a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade, Cadillac is poised to attract luxury EV intenders with the Optiq.
Overall, the Cadillac Optiq is a game-changer in the European automotive market, combining American luxury with innovative electric technology. Stay tuned for its arrival in the United Kingdom and prepare to be impressed by Cadillac’s latest offering.
