Cadillac to Launch Two New Electric Vehicles in the UK: The 2025 Lyriq and Optiq

Are you a fan of luxury cars and cutting-edge technology? If so, you’ll be excited to hear that Cadillac, a world-renowned car brand, is expanding its operation across the UK with the launch of two new electric vehicles later this year.

Cadillac is known for its best-selling Escalade series of SUVs in the United States, with nearly one million sold since 1999. However, until recently, Cadillac enthusiasts in the UK have had limited options, with only two dealerships carrying the vehicles in the entire country.

The good news is that Cadillac is making a comeback in the UK with the introduction of the Lyriq and Optiq electric crossovers. These new models will bring more electric powertrains to British roads, offering drivers a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.

The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is set to have an estimated 300 miles of battery range in the US, with European range evaluations to follow. The brand is aiming to return to the UK before the end of the year, with right-hand drive options available for drivers.

The 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, starting from $58,590 (£46,113), comes equipped with hands-free “Super Cruise” technology, between 307 and 314 miles of battery range, and fast charging speeds. These features make it a strong competitor in the luxury electric vehicle market.

Cadillac’s Vice President, John Roth, expressed excitement about the brand’s future in the EV market, stating that the Optiq will attract luxury EV intenders to Cadillac as they aim to offer a fully electric portfolio by the end of the decade.

The launch of the Optiq in Europe is highly anticipated, with the crossover expected to challenge popular models like the Audi Q4 e-tron, Polestar 2, and Tesla Model Y. Production is set to begin in the autumn of 2024, with the European launch planned for the end of the year.

Overall, Cadillac’s expansion into the UK with these new electric vehicles is a significant step towards a more sustainable future for luxury car enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates on Cadillac’s exciting developments in the EV market.
