Suzuki Jimny Horizon: A Special Edition for the German Market

The Suzuki Jimny has been a beloved off-road vehicle for many years, known for its compact size and rugged capabilities. However, with changing emissions regulations in Europe and the UK, the future of the Jimny is evolving. The latest development is the introduction of the Jimny Horizon, a special edition exclusive to the German market.

Priced slightly higher than the base model, the Jimny Horizon offers unique features such as black decals, black-painted steelies with Dunlop Grandtrek AT20 rubber, a removable trailer hitch, and flexible mud flaps. The special edition also includes Adventure side skirts, a retro-style front grille, and undercarriage protection for the front bumper. With only 900 units available, the Jimny Horizon is sure to be a sought-after model for fans of the iconic vehicle.

Looking ahead, Suzuki has announced plans for an all-electric version of the Jimny as part of their Growth Strategy for FY2030. With a focus on electric and hybrid vehicles, Suzuki aims to have 80% of their sales in Europe and the UK be electric by the end of the decade. This shift towards electrification is in response to stringent emissions regulations that will come into effect in 2025, incentivizing automakers to reduce their carbon footprint.

By partnering with Toyota for autonomous tech and batteries, Suzuki is positioning itself for success in the evolving automotive landscape. The collaboration with Toyota has already resulted in badge-engineered models like the Swace and Across, which help Suzuki meet fleet-wide emissions targets. As the automotive industry transitions towards electrification, the Suzuki Jimny is set to undergo a transformation into an all-electric off-road SUV, ensuring its continued relevance in a changing world.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Suzuki Jimny EV and other electrified models from Suzuki as they work towards a more sustainable future. The iconic Jimny may be evolving, but its spirit of adventure and capability will continue to thrive in the electric era.
