New MG ZS Hybrid Set to Rival Nissan and Renault Models in the UK
Are you in the market for a new car that is not only affordable but also environmentally friendly? Well, you’re in luck because a global car brand is set to launch a new hybrid model that promises to rival cars from Nissan and Renault – and it will be among the cheapest in the UK!
The new MG ZS compact SUV is set to undercut its competitors on price without compromising on quality. American giant MG has announced the release of the next generation of the ZS crossover for 2024, featuring a powertrain revamp to introduce a plug-in hybrid variant. Unlike its sister models, the ZS will no longer be offered with petrol power, only coming in hybrid or fully electric specs.
With a starting price of £21,995, the MG ZS hybrid is expected to be the third cheapest hybrid model in the UK and in the top 20 cheapest for all cars. It will feature a four-cylinder engine and electric motor mix generating a combined 194 horsepower, with an impressive claimed fuel economy of 55.4mpg, making it cheap to run as well.
Guy Pigounakis, MG UK’s commercial director, expressed confidence in the new hybrid model, stating that MG has the flexibility to adapt to market demands and could potentially be 100% electric by 2030. However, he also mentioned that MG would continue to offer petrol cars alongside their electric offerings.
The MG ZS hybrid is set to hit UK showrooms in October this year, offering drivers a budget-friendly and eco-conscious option in the competitive SUV market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new release, and get ready to experience the future of driving with MG’s latest innovation.
