2024 What Car? Electric Car Awards Winners Announced

The UK’s electric and plug-in hybrid car market is booming, and the 2024 What Car? Electric Car Awards have just revealed the best of the best in the industry. With brands like BMW, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz leading the way, it’s clear that electric and hybrid vehicles are here to stay.

BMW took home five awards, including Best electric estate, Best electric luxury car, and Best used electric performance car. Volkswagen wasn’t far behind, winning in categories like Best hybrid family car and Best used electric family car. And let’s not forget Mercedes-Benz, with four wins of their own.

The most affordable new electric or hybrid car winner was the MG 4 EV SE, priced at £26,995, while the most expensive model was the BMW i7 eDrive50 Excellence, coming in at £101,765. It’s clear that there are options for every budget in the electric and hybrid car market.

One of the most exciting wins of the night was the Reader Award, which went to the Renault 4 electric SUV. This award was decided by a public vote on What Car?’s social media channels, showing the enthusiasm and anticipation for upcoming electric models.
