Vauxhall Frontera Powertrain Options and Trim Levels Explained
Introducing the New Vauxhall Frontera: A Closer Look at the Powertrain and Features
Vauxhall has recently unveiled the new Frontera, a versatile SUV that offers a range of powertrain options to suit different driving preferences. The Frontera comes with either a 99bhp engine with 205Nm of torque or a more powerful 136bhp engine with 230Nm of torque. Despite the power difference, both engines deliver a similar performance, with the former completing the 0-62mph sprint in 11 seconds and the latter in nine seconds. Additionally, both engines produce low emissions of 120g/km.
In terms of pricing, the 136bhp hybrid version of the Frontera costs an additional £1,500 over the 99bhp model, starting at £24,995 in Design trim. For those looking for extra seating capacity, the GS models with the hybrid powertrain can be optioned with seven seats for an additional £550.
The Frontera Electric variant is equipped with a 44kWh battery and a 111bhp front-mounted electric motor, similar to the Citroen e-C3. Vauxhall promises a WLTP-certified range of 186 miles, with the capability to charge from 20 to 80 percent in just 26 minutes. The Frontera Electric can accelerate from 0-62mph in 12.1 seconds and has a top speed of 87mph. A ‘Long Range’ version is also in the works, offering a more generous 248-mile range.
Standard equipment for the Frontera in Design trim includes automatic LED headlights, 16-inch steel wheels, automatic wipers, and Vauxhall’s ‘Pure Panel’ dash layout with two 10-inch screens. The interior features sat-nav, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear parking sensors, cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition.
For those looking for a more luxurious experience, the GS trim offers additional features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, electronic climate control, comfort front seats, front parking sensors, and blind spot monitoring. The option of seven seats and a ‘Comfort Pack’ with heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and roof rails are also available.
With its impressive powertrain options and a range of features, the new Vauxhall Frontera is set to compete with other small SUVs in the market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new model!
