Rare Italian Super Saloon with Ferrari Engine Available at Bargain Price
Are you a fan of rare and unique cars? If so, you’ll be intrigued to learn about the Lancia Therma, a little-known Italian super saloon that boasts a Ferrari engine. This luxurious vehicle, produced between 1984 and 1994, is a true gem that is extremely hard to find in the UK.
Designed and produced by Pininfarina, the Lancia Therma was available as both a saloon and a station wagon. The top-of-the-range model, the Thema 8.32, was introduced in 1986 and featured a powerful 3.0-litre Ferrari V8 engine capable of reaching 146 mph. Inside, the car was adorned with wood-and-Alcantara trimmings and stitched leather covering the entire dashboard.
Interestingly, Enzo Ferrari himself owned a Therma 8.32 as his personal transport towards the end of his life. The vehicle rivalled other fast saloons of the late 1980s, such as the Audi Quattro, BMW M535i, and Ford Sierra Cosworth RS.
According to How Rare is My Car, only 27 Lancia Therma’s are currently registered in the UK with a full MOT. These rare gems occasionally appear on car auction websites, making them a sought-after collector’s item.
If you’re in the market for a unique and luxurious vehicle, you may be interested to know that a 1987 Lancia Therma 8.32 is currently up for sale on the Cars & Classic website. Finished in a beautiful dark red color and with just 60,000 miles on the clock, this well-maintained motor is priced at £16,000 – a steal for such a rare find.
