Stellantis N.V. Expands Hybrid Powertrain Offerings to Meet Growing European Demand

Stellantis N.V. is making waves in the automotive industry with its innovative approach to hybrid technology. The company is extending its benchmark hybrid powertrain to more nameplates to meet the growing demand for hybrid vehicles in Europe. With 30 hybrid models available this year and six new launches planned through 2026, Stellantis is leading the way in providing customers with a wide range of hybrid options.

One of the key technologies driving Stellantis’ hybrid vehicles is the electrified dual-clutch transmissions (eDCT), which offer superior performance at an affordable price point. These transmissions help achieve up to a 20% improvement in fuel economy and CO2 reduction compared to traditional internal combustion engines. This means that customers can enjoy the benefits of hybrid technology without breaking the bank.

The company has seen a 41% increase in sales of hybrid models in Europe in 2024 compared to the previous year, and with the introduction of new models, they expect this trend to continue. Stellantis is committed to providing customers with a wide range of choices across its 14-brand portfolio, ensuring that there is a hybrid option for every type of driver.

Stellantis’ multi-energy approach allows them to offer hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric vehicles, catering to different customer preferences and driving needs. The eDCT technology, integrated into most of their hybrid vehicles, provides a seamless driving experience with features like pure electric driving in city conditions. The system’s 48-volt battery delivers impressive range and energy recuperation during deceleration, further enhancing fuel efficiency.

With a strong focus on electrification, Stellantis is investing over €50 billion worldwide to achieve their Dare Forward 2030 targets. These targets include reaching a 100% passenger car battery electric vehicle sales mix in Europe by 2030 and becoming a carbon net zero corporation by 2038. By securing battery capacity and expanding their manufacturing footprint, Stellantis is paving the way for a sustainable future in the automotive industry.

In conclusion, Stellantis is setting the bar high for hybrid technology in Europe, with a wide range of models and advanced features that cater to the needs of modern drivers. With their commitment to innovation and sustainability, Stellantis is driving towards a future of clean, safe, and affordable mobility for all.
