British Gas and Toyota Partner to Deliver Toyota HomeCharge Solution
Are you considering making the switch to an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle? Well, British Gas and Toyota have just made it even easier for you to do so with their new partnership to deliver the Toyota HomeCharge. This innovative collaboration aims to make at-home charging more accessible and convenient for Toyota electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners.
British Gas, a leading energy provider, has expanded its partnership with Toyota to launch the Toyota HomeCharge, the first domestic wallbox chargepoint designed exclusively for Toyota vehicles. This means that Toyota retail customers who order a new electric car or van within a specific timeframe will receive a free charging solution, including the installation of the ABB Terra 3 home charger by qualified British Gas engineers.
For those who miss the initial offer period, the Toyota HomeCharge will be available for purchase at any nationwide Toyota centre for £1,095 starting in May. This initiative not only aims to make at-home charging more accessible but also to encourage more drivers to make the switch to low emission vehicles.
Kim Royds, Head of Mobility at Centrica, expressed the importance of collaboration between industry leaders, OEMs, and energy providers to drive the adoption of electric vehicles. The partnership with Toyota is a step towards providing customers with greater control over their electrification experience and addressing the key barrier of at-home charging.
Lloyd Wilson, General Manager of Electrification at Toyota (GB), highlighted the convenience and flexibility of the Toyota HomeCharge, which is designed to work seamlessly with Toyota and Lexus electrified models. With the support of British Gas, customers can expect a trusted installation and support service as they transition to electric vehicles.
Overall, the collaboration between British Gas and Toyota to deliver the Toyota HomeCharge is a significant step towards making electric vehicle ownership more convenient and accessible for customers. With the increasing focus on sustainability and reducing emissions, initiatives like this play a crucial role in driving the transition to a greener future.
